Samples from Taiwan COE 2025 were cupped in Finland—the world’s highest per capita coffee-consuming country.
The session took place at Helsingin Kahvipaahtimo (Helsinki Coffee Roastery), a leading roaster shaping the coffee scene in Helsinki.
One of the coffees that particularly caught their attention was SongYue’s Gesha Natural. In Finland, where brighter acidity is generally preferred, SongYue’s Gesha presents a well-structured acidity, though not necessarily aligned with typical Nordic flavor preferences—making their interest all the more surprising.
Widely appreciated in Japan, this Gesha Natural once again demonstrated its ability to transcend regional taste preferences. It also highlighted the strong potential for Taiwanese coffee to expand further into the European market.
